How to Eliminate Cellulite
Cellulite is a concentrated collection of fat cells that have bulged into the skin's middle layer; these cells are in an area where they pull on connective fascia tissue to create an unattractive dimpled appearance.
The common solution to reducing or eliminating cellulite is to undergo a process called Cellulose, which can get rid of cellulite surgically. The results are impressive, but the procedure is expensive—typically in the range of $5,000 to $7,000.
If you want to get rid of the dreaded cellulite—also known as "cottage cheese thighs"—you're not alone. Nearly 90 percent of women have cellulite.
Fortunately, there are a number of ways to reduce cellulite short of expensive medical procedures, including using massage therapy.
Reducing Cellulite With Massage Therapy
If you don't want the expense, invasiveness, or inconvenience of surgery, there are things you can do to get rid of cellulite yourself. To get rid of cellulite you need to strengthen and hydrate your body's cells and the connective tissue in your body, which can be achieved through massage therapy as well as changing your diet, exercise regime, and water intake.
The specific massage treatment that is used to address cellulite is called Manual Lymph Drainage Massage and is considered to be a beneficial treatment for the reduction and elimination of cellulite.
A cellulite massage works to reduce cellulite by rolling and suctioning different parts of the body to restore circulation and the flow of nutrients to problem areas. Each individual body is a unique ecosystem and with regular cellulite massage, you will notice significant and positive differences.
In addition to regular massage, you need a lot of water to hydrate your body and flush out any toxins. Eight to 10 glasses a day are recommended, but you should drink more water if you plan to do strenuous activities.
Additionally, you should avoid toxins like excessive alcohol and cigarettes, which put a burden on your body's lymphatic system. This is one of the most important things you can do for your overall health, and it helps get rid of cellulite. Adding a Glucosamine supplement can also help your body repair the dermis and connective tissues.
You may also want to consider the inclusion of more organic foods (which contain fewer toxins) and avoid junk foods, sodas, processed foods, artificial colors and flavors, and saturated fats like butter as well as sugar and salt, which aggravate fluid retention. Making these changes in addition to regular massage are all important in order for you to notice significant results.
Does Cellulite Cream Work?
Cellulite cream can work, but typically only in conjunction with other methods of cellulite removal. Cellulite creams are designed to either mask the appearance of cellulite, in which case you are not removing the problem; or they are designed to supplement cellulite removal treatments.
